How The Hendo Foundation Is Changing Lives Through Youth Martial Arts

Dan Henderson built a Hall of Fame career on discipline, grit, and heart. Now he's using those same values to give underprivileged youth in Temecula a fighting chance.
The Hendo Foundation's youth program is built on a simple belief: martial arts changes lives. Not just because it builds physical strength, but because it instills discipline, respect, and a sense of belonging that many at-risk kids never find elsewhere.
The foundation identifies underprivileged youth in the Temecula Valley and sponsors their participation in wrestling and MMA training programs. Financial barriers are removed entirely — the foundation covers costs so families never have to choose between putting food on the table and giving their child access to life-changing mentorship.
Training takes place at 27901 Jefferson Avenue, Temecula, CA 92590, with classes available for youth ages 6–18 throughout the week. Coaches work not just on technique, but on character — teaching young athletes how to handle adversity, respect their opponents, and show up consistently.
The results speak for themselves. Kids who come in withdrawn and uncertain leave standing taller. They learn to set goals, push through difficulty, and support their teammates — skills that carry far beyond the mats.
